Waterfall islands
One slab, folded down the sides.
A waterfall island is the one counter people walk around and run a hand along. The miter at each corner has to be tight and the veining has to wrap around it, so the slab is planned as one piece before it's cut.
- Mitered corners
- Veining wrapped around the edge
- Seating overhangs that clear a knee

Choosing a surface
Granite, quartz or marble.
Quartz is consistent and doesn't need sealing. Granite is natural, every slab is its own, and it gets resealed now and then. Marble has the softest veining and the least patience: lemon juice and red wine will etch it.
- Full slabs seen before you choose
- Edge profiles to match the room
- Backsplash and counter chosen together

Bathrooms
Vanity tops that match the tile.
Stone vanity tops get picked with the shower tile in hand, so the veining and the white points of both agree.
- Single and double vanity tops
- Undermount and vessel sinks
- Matching curbs and niche shelves

- Good for
- Living areas and hallways. A bright polished floor bounces daylight deep into the house.
- Watch out for
- Polished is slick when wet. Use the honed or textured version in the same look for bathrooms and entries.

Where we work
Countertops near you.
When do you measure for counters?
Once the base underneath is installed and level. Measuring before that is how overhangs end up uneven.
Does quartz stain?
It resists stains well and doesn't need sealing. Very hot pans can mark it, so trivets are still a good habit.
Can you match a new counter to my existing backsplash?
Often, yes. Matching the white point and the veining direction is what makes it work, so we look at it in person.
